CHAOTIC STENCIL DRAWINGS

The works were developed in the aim of building irregularity and randomness out of regular repetition. The source which the drawings rely on are circular stencils - devices that usually enable reproduction and repeatability. With a biro put into a tiny hole in the inner stencil the outer one is continued along, achieving forms that may resemble snow crystals or atomic models. By adding multiple and asymmetrical stencils the simple movement got quiet complex and the streak went all across the paper.
This behavior is comparable with the so called Double Pendulum effect, that appears, when a second pendulum is affixed onto an existent. Thereby the pendulums movement - which naturally is such exact and regular that it is used for measuring the time - becomes chaotic.
